I am an anaesthetic registrar currently training in London. In my spare time, I like to paint primarily in watercolour and gouache. My interest in the intersection between art and science has led to the inclusion of my work in the Pan-London Paediatric Trauma Manual (2020), which was incredibly exciting.

The role of art in the history and development of medicine (and particularly regional anaesthesia) formed the basis of my submission essay for the Thomas Boulton History of Anaesthesia Prize in 2017. The part that art can play in and its impact on the development of education within medicine remains an area of special interest.

In addition to my anaesthetic training, I have also worked with the Oxford University Press as a junior reader for their Oxford Handbook of Clinical Specialties 10th and the upcoming 11th edition.

Art has been part of the dialogue of medical education much more than we might first consider. Iā€™m always excited to get involved in projects where the image might add new depth, clarity or accessibility to projects in medicine - let me know if you have one!
